Hey everyone! I've been experiencing a frustrating issue with Access 2010 where it gets stuck in a repair loop every couple of days. The only temporary fix I've found is running the application as an administrator. However, this problem keeps coming back. I've tried repairing and reinstalling Office 2010, but it doesn't help; it just leads me back to the same repair loop.
This is becoming a widespread issue among my colleagues too. We really need to keep Access 2010 around for some legacy applications we rely on, but I'm at a loss on how to properly fix this. Here's what I've tried so far, without any success:
- Repairing Office 2010
- Completely reinstalling Office 2010 (using Revo for a thorough uninstall)
- Disabling various settings that might be communicating with Microsoft's servers (like privacy options and scheduled tasks)
- Turning off all add-ins since some event IDs hinted that COM add-ins were involved.
I'm hoping someone here can offer a solution. I'm even considering creating a PowerShell task to kill Access and then restart it as an admin, but I'd love to tackle the root cause instead. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Have you tried uninstalling Office completely and then reinstalling it? Make sure to run the installer as an administrator. This could help clear out any residual issues from previous installations.
Hey, have you thought about upgrading to a newer version? I know it might be a hassle, but Access 2010 is pretty old at this point. It might save you a lot of headaches in the long run!

I wish I could! Unfortunately, we're stuck with the legacy system for a while. Just trying to find a workaround for the time being.
