PC Won’t Boot After Connecting USB 3.0 Cable to Motherboard

Hey everyone! I need some help with an issue I'm having with my PC. I built it about five years ago and the front-panel USB ports never worked. While troubleshooting, I discovered that the USB 3.0 cable wasn't connected to the motherboard, so I plugged it in. Ever since then, my PC won't boot up.

Here's what I've tried so far:
- Disconnected the USB cable from the motherboard,
- Removed and reseated the RAM and graphics card and attempted to boot using the bridge method,
- Cleared the CMOS battery for 15 minutes and installed a new one, but still nothing.

The motherboard (ASUS H410M-E) lights up when the power supply is connected, but I suspect these lights are just decorative since no warning lights are showing any issues. The power supply makes some noise too, so I don't think that's the problem. I'm concerned that there might be other dead components since I live in a rural area and depend on my PC for work and entertainment. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

Have you tried booting with just one RAM stick? Sometimes the connection can get loose when you've been tinkering in there. If you have multiple modules, try each one individually just to rule out any RAM issues.

Double-check to make sure the USB cable is in the correct port on the motherboard. Plugging it in the wrong way could potentially short something out. Also, instead of just clearing the CMOS, a hard power reset might help—unplug the power and hold the power button for around 30 seconds. It could reset anything that got locked up due to a short.
