I'm looking to upgrade from my 2060s, and with my Ryzen 5 5600 CPU, I want to find the best GPU for playing both older and newer games at 1080p. I'm happy to tweak some graphical settings to achieve a smooth experience at 60fps. My budget is about $350, but I can stretch it a little if necessary. Here are the options I've found:
- RTX 3080 used (around $330)
- RTX 4060 (about $300)
- RTX 5060 (roughly $340)
- RX 6900 XT or 6800 XT used (prices are a bit unclear)
- RX 9060 XT 8GB ($350, but I've heard it's not the best option)
- Intel Arc B580 ($300, which I'm leaning towards)
Any recommendations would be really helpful!

If you're concerned about performance, I recommend AMD GPUs. They generally offer lower CPU overhead than Nvidia, especially against Intel. The 9060 XT 16GB is the best choice, but the 8GB can still work; just keep in mind it may limit you in newer games.
I would suggest saving a bit more to get the RX 9060 XT 16GB or the RX 6900 XT 16GB. Both are solid choices that can handle modern gaming at 1080p easily. The larger memory size will also help with newer titles.
Go for the 3080; it has more VRAM than the 4060 and will outperform it easily. It’s great for 1080p and can even handle 1440p. The RX 6900 XT is comparable in performance, but tends to cost a bit more. Overall, the 3080 is the best bang for your buck.
What about the Intel Arc B580? Is it worth considering?
I have an RTX 3080 and it's a beast. I play at 3440x1440 without issues, so I'd say it's a fantastic pick for 1080p. You'll be set for years without needing another upgrade.
If you're looking for a really solid upgrade, I'd say the 5060, but you might want to save a little longer for the 5070—it could be worthwhile in the long run. Consider saving up for a more powerful GPU; you won't regret it in the future.

I'd love to get the 9060 XT 16GB too, but every listing I see is over $450!
