Hey everyone! I'm looking to upgrade my GPU without breaking the bank. I've got a system from 2020 with an AMD Ryzen 9 5950X CPU, 128GB of DDR4 RAM, and I'm currently using an NVIDIA 3080 Ti. I've been playing Red Dead Redemption 2 with some mods, and I've noticed some significant FPS drops in certain areas, ranging from 34 to 45 FPS, averaging about 55 to 70 FPS in less demanding spots. Given the current prices of AM5 and DDR5 components, I want to retain my CPU and just swap out the GPU for now. I'm considering either the Radeon 9070 XT or the 5070 Ti. Both seem to perform similarly based on the benchmarks I've seen. Any advice on which would be the best upgrade for my setup? Thanks!

Honestly, the 3080 Ti is still a pretty solid card, but it sounds like you're pushing it hard with mods at high resolutions. The 5070 Ti tends to have a slight advantage in most benchmarks, so I'd recommend that one if you're looking for a better performance upgrade without too much hassle. The 9070 XT is decent, but I rarely see it outperforming the 5070 Ti in tests.
If you're comparing prices, the 5070 Ti is generally a better value for performance. The 9070 XT could be worth it if it's on sale or if you're planning to run Linux, but otherwise, I'd stick with the 5070 Ti.
They aren't too far apart in price here, maybe a 200-300 NZD difference, but I agree that the 5070 Ti might give you better overall performance.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. I play with heavy texture mods, and sometimes I see my FPS dip into the 30s and 40s too. Are you leaning towards the 5070 Ti based on this?
