Seeking Career Guidance in Tech After a Long Break

I'm 24 years old and I've taken a significant break of about 7 years since high school. Right now, I'm working towards a bachelor's degree in computer application. I'm really unsure about whether I should commit to this field and if companies would actually consider hiring someone with my background. With technology evolving so fast, especially with AI, I'm feeling a bit lost. Can anyone provide guidance on what tech stack or specialization I should focus on? I'm also open to freelance opportunities. I just want to build a worthwhile career and not end up wasting my time!

It's totally normal to feel overwhelmed, especially after a break. The good news is that many people have found success later in life, and hiring managers generally care more about your skills than gaps in your education. Focus on completing your degree, and while you're at it, try to pick up some skills in areas like AI, web development, or mobile app development. They're in high demand!

True! Plus, consider starting small with online courses. Platforms like Coursera or Udemy have great resources to help you get hands-on experience.

Honestly, just finish your studies for now. It’s a crucial step. If you’re anxious about your qualifications, look into internships or volunteer projects once you're done, which can add to your resume. You'll get real-world experience that companies value!

That's what I plan to do! I'm just trying to think ahead. What kind of challenges should I be preparing for once I graduate?
