My Monitor Suddenly Stopped Working – Help!

I'm having a major issue where my monitor just died on me without warning. I initially thought I accidentally bumped the cord, but it turns out it was still plugged in fine. I checked the cord for any visible damage and even swapped it out with a different one that I know works, but it still won't turn on. I tried plugging it into different outlets, and once I even saw a brief flash of light before it went off again. Oddly enough, my computer's display settings still recognize that the monitor is connected. What should I do?

If possible, try connecting another monitor to your PC. This will help confirm if it's a monitor problem or something more complex, like interference from malware.

Do you have another computer or a laptop you could test it on? It would help to determine if the monitor itself has an issue.

It sounds like a classic case of monitor failure. Sometimes parts in monitors just give out unexpectedly. From what you’ve described, it seems like the signal communication from your PC is okay, but the actual display component has likely failed.

Have you checked if your computer is actually set to output to that monitor? Sometimes older models might need you to unplug them for a minute to reset before they register the signal again.

Also, did you make sure to hit the physical power button on the monitor? Sometimes it can be as simple as that!
