Is This Gaming PC Build Good Enough for the Future?

I've finally decided to upgrade my old potato PC after years of struggling with it. I want to make sure this new setup is future-proof but I'm unsure if I've overdone it since I did minimal research. I used Corsair's custom PC builder for compatibility checks and a pricing estimate. The CPU, GPU, motherboard, and case cost around 1550 euros from a local site, while the other components add up to about 1.1k. My main focus is gaming, as my current setup, which has an Intel i5-7400, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, and 16GB of RAM, is barely functional. It takes forever to boot and can't run most games well on low settings. I'm open to any recommendations for better parts or tips for a first-time builder. I also heard case fans aren't very good. Do I need to think about cables or thermal paste, or do these usually come with the build?

This build looks pretty solid for 1440p gaming! You're likely going to have a great experience. Just keep in mind that your games will run better at lower resolutions like 1440p; you might even want to consider changing the monitor to fully utilize the setup.

If you're noticing much better frames at 1440p compared to 4K, then maybe look into getting a dedicated 1440p monitor, especially if it enhances your gaming. It could really elevate your experience!
