How do I troubleshoot BIOS update issues with my ASRock motherboard?

I'm currently using an ASRock Z790 Nova WiFi motherboard and I need assistance with updating the BIOS. I've been following the procedure of putting the BIOS file on a USB flash drive and booting from it, but my PC isn't recognizing the drive at all—it doesn't show up in File Explorer. I've attempted to format the drive through Disk Management, but I keep encountering an error that says, 'The operation failed because the disk management view is not up to date.' I feel like I've tried everything possible at this point, so any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm happy to share screenshots of the errors if that would help.

If the formatting isn't working, it could indicate that there's an issue with the flash drive itself. Have you tried using a different USB stick? Flash drives can fail, and it's worth testing if it's simply a bad drive. Sometimes Disk Management can show errors when the drive is connected, but you'll need to confirm if it's truly the drive or something else.

Just a heads up, if you've already tried three different drives and none of them work, it could be an issue with the USB ports or even the motherboard settings. You might want to check your BIOS settings to see if there's anything preventing USB devices from being recognized.

First off, double-check that your USB drive is formatted as FAT32; that's usually required for BIOS updates. Also, make sure that the files you need are placed directly in the root directory of the USB, not in any subfolders. That could be a big part of the issue you're facing.
