Can I Safely Mix Different RAM Kits in My PC?

Hey everyone, I've got a question about mixing RAM and could use some advice. I currently have a Patriot Viper kit (2x8GB 3200MHz CL18) in my PC and I'm considering adding a 16GB stick from a different kit, specifically a Corsair Vengeance LPX (16GB DDR4 3200MHz). I'm curious if mixing these two would cause any major issues. They both run at 3200MHz, but the timings and memory chips might differ. Has anyone here tried this? Did it work out fine with XMP settings, or did you have to manually tweak things?

Mixing RAM kits can work, but it's not guaranteed. You usually end up having to run both kits at the slower speed of the two, so just keep that in mind. Even if they’re both 3200MHz, they might not play well together due to different latencies and timings.

I'm mainly aiming for 32GB total—only the latency should differ between them, so I thought it might still be alright.
