I recently purchased a refurbished Ricoh 8040 printer, but I discovered that the admin password has been changed and there's a static IP configured. Unfortunately, the factory reset option is locked behind this admin password, and the default passwords I've tried haven't worked. I've heard there might be a Ricoh maintenance tool or operations guide available that could help me with a factory reset. Does anyone have access to this tool or any ideas on how I can reset the printer? Thanks for your help!

Here’s a couple of methods you might try to reset your Ricoh 8040:
**Method 1 - Using the Software Operation Panel:**
1. Open the Software Operation Panel on your computer.
2. Look for the **Maintenance** option on the left side.
3. Click on **Restore Factory Defaults** and confirm.
4. It’ll restart the printer and bring up the setup window.
**Method 2 - Via the Touch Screen:**
If connected to a network, tap the **Settings** icon twice quickly, then go to **Administrator Settings** and enter the admin password. If it's asking for a password you don’t have, this won’t work, unfortunately. Hope one of these helps you!
If methods aren’t working, you might want to check with your workplace's help desk. They might assist even if it’s not company equipment. Alternatively, find someone tech-savvy locally; they might have encountered this before!
I manage a network operations team, so no help desk here. I'll have to tackle this on my own.

Thanks for the tips! I can't access the second option since I don't have the admin password, and the maintenance option didn't show up in my Software Operation Panel. I'm still stuck.
