Hi everyone! I'm considering purchasing an Inplay GS 650 Ultra power supply, but I wanted to hear from anyone who has used it. How has your experience been over time? My budget is pretty tight, and I know that Inplay's power supplies have a bit of a reputation. Will this model be capable enough for casual gaming, like playing Valorant or other light games? Right now, my current power supply is generic and it's causing my monitor to turn off while gaming, which I have to manually reset. The event viewer shows an event 41 kernel power error too.
Here are my PC specs:
- Ryzen 5 3400G
- 8GB DDR4 3200MHz
- Biostar B450MHP
- 128GB SSD
- Stock cooler
- 2 RGB fans
- My current PSU is a generic one that claims to be 750W, but I doubt it's even rated at 250W. Also, I'm planning to add a 512GB HDD soon.
Thanks for any insights!

If you’re looking for something reliable, consider a tier C PSU like a Silverstone or FSP. They might fit your budget better and provide more safety for your components.
It should work fine for your integrated GPU as a temporary solution, but if you ever plan to upgrade to a dedicated GPU, you really need to get something better. Cheap PSUs can fail and potentially damage more expensive components. Never skimp on your PSU—it’s the heart of your whole setup!
I’d steer clear of that PSU. Your build doesn’t require much power, and any decent 350W-400W PSU should be more than enough. This model might not even deliver that, plus, it’s got a 12-month warranty with no specs on the amperage. Just seems risky to me.
