How Can I Connect My Old Philips TV to the Internet?

I recently bought an older Philips TV, and I'm trying to figure out how to connect it to the internet. I can't find anything related to network settings or Wi-Fi in the menu. Am I missing something? Do I need a cable to make it work? I really just want to stream Netflix or YouTube. Also, is using a Chromecast different from this TV?

Just so you know, the Philips 37PFL7403D/10 is actually not a smart TV. I recommend picking up a Chromecast to start streaming.

Sometimes, it’s not about the TV but about the user! Try Googling your model number and downloading the manual to find out your options.

What's the model number of your TV? There's a chance it might not actually be a smart TV or could only have Ethernet support, which isn't very common for older models.

It's a Philips 37PFL7403D/10.

If that's the case, it seems like you might've been misled. Double-check and see if it has Wi-Fi compatibility.

The easiest solution is to forget about the TV's built-in features and get a streaming device like a Chromecast or Fire TV. These connect via HDMI and let you access Netflix and YouTube directly, often providing a smoother experience than the old smart interface can offer.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Thanks everyone for the info! Seems like I got it wrong about the smart feature on my TV, and I'm not feeling very smart either! 😂
