Hey everyone, I'm a bit lost with my new HP DL380 Gen9 server and could really use some help. I've been trying to set up RAID, but I can't seem to access the HP Smart Storage Administrator since the offline ISO has been discontinued. I read that I should set up the RAID before installing the OS (I'm going with Proxmox), but I'm struggling to find the right tools. The F10 Intelligent Provisioning menu isn't available for me either. My server specs are:
- HP ProLiant DL380 Gen9
- BIOS Version: P89 v2.64
- Smart Array P440ar firmware version: 7.00
- iLO Firmware Version: 2.62
Any guidance or tips from those experienced with this would be greatly appreciated!

To set up RAID, try accessing the BIOS by pressing F9 during boot. Once you're in, go to 'System Utilities' and then 'RBSU'—you should be able to configure the RAID there. After setting it up, the RAID volumes should show up as disks when you install Proxmox. Good luck!
Regarding the Intelligent Provisioning, it's usually accessed through F10, but since it's not working for you, it might be a BIOS version issue. Have you tried checking for an updated version?
If you're cautious about using unverified ISOs, that's smart! Just remember, for older out-of-support machines, it might feel tricky, but HP's signed drivers and firmware help mitigate risks. Just create your logical drive in the Smart Storage Administrator, and the Proxmox installer will recognize it when you go to set up the OS.
You should definitely be able to configure the array directly from the BIOS. Even without the Intelligent Provisioning menu, the options should be there. Just make sure you're in the right section—good luck with it!
