I'm looking for a way to store movies on a device that I can access even when I don't have a signal, as I want to watch them offline. Unfortunately, my phone's storage is too limited for even a single movie download, and I don't have a tablet or laptop to help with this. Is there a way I can use an external storage device that connects to my phone to download and store movies? I understand I don't actually own the movies from Amazon, but that's where I keep most of my collection.

You can use USB-C drives! They plug directly into your phone and you can access them through your files app. Just make sure your phone has a USB-C port.
If your phone supports it, consider getting a micro SD card to expand storage. Many apps like Netflix and Amazon let you save movies directly to it. Otherwise, a USB-C external hard drive could be a good alternative.
It would help to know what kind of phone you have, but if it’s a newer model, a USB-C drive could work great. I use a SanDisk one that has both USB-A and USB-C connectors.
Make sure you’re downloading movies via the Prime app for offline viewing, if that’s your plan. If your phone has a USB-C port, I’d suggest getting a USB-C External Drive like the Samsung options available online.
You can absolutely use a thumb drive for this! If it's an older iPhone, look for one with a Lightning connector; for newer iPhones or Androids, a USB-C drive will work just fine.
