I'm part of the IT department at a medium-sized tech company and my manager has asked me to create a proposal for getting standing desks for our team of about 30 people. Currently, the only way to obtain a standing desk is to go through HR or buy one individually, so we're looking to set up a more organized solution for the whole department. I'm reaching out for recommendations on reliable standing desk brands that are stable, well-built, and reasonably priced. If anyone knows of companies that provide bulk order discounts or special corporate pricing, that information would be extremely helpful. Additionally, I'd love to hear any feedback on how standing desks have affected productivity, especially in developer-heavy teams that typically sit for long periods. I'm aiming to wrap this up quickly, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Be careful buying standing desks for everyone - not everyone will use them. Maybe just get one demo station for those who are curious. I worked somewhere that installed motorized desks, and only about 10% of the employees used them in standing mode regularly. It turned out to be a bit of a waste.
Sitting too much is a genuine health concern, kinda like a silent killer. I got my standing desk through my work budget and it’s definitely improved my posture and overall health, even though it might not directly boost productivity for everyone. Still, I’d suggest you find out who’s interested first before making a big investment.
I've had great results with my standing desk! It really depends on how willing people are to use it, though. Personally, I'm tall and tend to have back issues, and switching to standing has helped a lot. I recommend SmartDesk 2 from Auto, we ordered 20 units and got a nice discount. The convenience of cable trays included was a bonus for our IT team too!
Yeah, I'm in a similar situation. I didn’t think I'd like a standing desk so much, but having the option has been fantastic during long standups and bug-fixing sessions. People find it helps them stay engaged and avoid slouching.
From my experience, standing desks aren't just about standing. They can help everyone find a comfortable sitting height too. I have long arms and need to adjust mine to prevent shoulder pain while typing. Plus, they’re great for people of all heights!
Right! I've seen similar situations where a lot of people just stick to sitting. It might be better to at least ask first who wants one before committing to a bulk order.
