I'm upgrading my PC and getting an Intel Arc B580 GPU that requires a 650W power supply. However, I found a 460W power supply. The rest of my setup is pretty low power, with an i7-7700 CPU. Will the 460W supply work for my needs?

You actually don’t need a full 650W for the B580. It typically consumes around 160W in normal usage and about 190W at peak, so your 460W PSU should be sufficient if your other components are low power. Just watch your overall draw, though.
It should work as long as your power supply can deliver most of that 460W on the 12V rail and has the proper 8-pin connector for the GPU. Just remember, the B580 might not perform optimally with older CPUs without features like resizable BAR.
Honestly, it’s a bit of a gamble. Every part in your setup adds to the total power draw, so if you can list all your components or use a site like PCPartPicker, that would help a lot.

I’ll definitely try that out. Thanks for the tip!
