Is the Ryzen 9800X3D and RX 9070 a Good Combo for Gaming and Productivity?

I'm building my first PC mainly for gaming but will also use it for some productivity tasks in a couple of years. My budget is around $2000, and I'm aiming for a smooth and seamless experience across the board. I'm considering using the Ryzen 9800X3D chip with an RX 9070 graphics card, but I've seen various bottleneck calculators suggesting there might be issues. Can anyone provide advice on whether this build is advisable? I've decided to upgrade my initial plan to a 7800X3D with a 9070 XT based on some recommendations, but I'm interested in any further insights while I keep this thread open for a few months as the market changes.

If stuttering is a concern, the X3D is indeed a good way to go. Buy your components without overthinking them! Most configurations will run fine together, especially with your chosen RAM.

Consider if you really need that high-end CPU with a mid-tier GPU; it can create an imbalanced setup. The 7800X3D is fantastic and using it with a better GPU like the 9070XT can give you a much better overall experience in gaming.

Great advice! I think I'm going to go for that combo now.

Stop relying on those bottleneck websites! They often just try to push affiliate products. In your case, the 9800X3D paired with the RX 9070 should be a solid build. Don't stress too much over the numbers—focus on gathering real-world performance info from YouTube or detailed reviews instead.

Thanks for the advice!

Every PC has some bottleneck, so it’s not something to overly worry about. The 9800X3D is currently one of the best CPUs for gaming, so it should handle the RX 9070 just fine. Aim for a nice balance when upgrading in the future.

This really helps clear my doubts!

With a $2000 budget, I’d suggest prioritizing the GPU. The 9070XT or a 5070ti can significantly enhance your gaming experience. Just be mindful of pricing in your area, though.

The 5070 ti is super pricey where I am, though!
