Hey everyone! I'm currently in a phase where I need to transport a lot of data, and I've been using a 2TB WD "passport" HDD for a while. However, I've always felt a bit anxious about it, especially regarding potential damage. I'm considering switching to an SSD and want to know if they can really handle the bumps and minor impacts from being in my frequently used backpack. Any insights would be appreciated!

Absolutely! SSDs are a solid option for travel because they handle everyday movement much better than HDDs. For even more protection, consider using a rugged external enclosure. It'll take on a lot of wear and tear with ease.

For peace of mind, just get a carry case that can protect the SSD’s connector and you should be good to go! Making minor adjustments like this can really help with durability.

Yes, SSDs are quite a bit more shock resistant compared to traditional hard drives since they don't have any moving parts. You're definitely in a better place with an SSD! Just make sure you don’t bend it in your bag.
