Can I still safely use the USB ports on my power bank if the built-in cable is damaged?

I recently got a brand new power bank, but while unboxing it, I accidentally cut the built-in charging cable. It's completely attached and cannot be removed. I'm wondering if I can still safely use the other USB ports for charging devices or if I should just give up on it entirely. Any advice?

It's best to avoid just taping the end of the damaged cord. Inside, there are multiple wires, and you should separate them and wrap each one with insulation tape to be safe. But be careful when doing this!

Thanks for the tip! I appreciate knowing there's a way to attempt a fix. Even if it doesn't work, at least I tried!

Using electrical tape to wrap the end of the damaged cord is a good idea. It will help prevent any accidental shorts. If the cable wasn't vital for charging the power bank itself, you're likely fine to use the other ports without issues!

Just be cautious not to let the wires touch each other. That could create problems even with the tape. Better safe than sorry!
