Can I Upgrade My CPU to 14th Gen with My Current Motherboard?

I'm currently using an ASUS TUF Gaming B660M Plus WiFi D4 motherboard along with an Intel Core i5-12400 processor. I was originally told that my CPU upgrade options were limited to the 12th generation chips like the i7 and i9. However, I've noticed that the official website mentions support for 13th and even 14th generation CPUs. Can anyone clarify if I can actually use a 14th gen CPU on this motherboard? Any help would be appreciated!

Yes, you can upgrade to a 14th generation CPU, but you'll need to update your BIOS first to meet the required version listed on the motherboard's support page. Make sure to do that before swapping in the new processor!

Awesome, thank you! I'm planning to use the new CPU in a different PC since the current one is doing just fine.

Should I be concerned about issues regarding 13th/14th gen compatibility? I've heard some talk about oxidation or something similar.

Are you considering the i7-14700 for your upgrade? That could be a solid choice!
