Is Apple intentionally making my MacBook Pro obsolete?

I own a 2019 MacBook Pro 16" and recently upgraded to macOS Ventura. Before this, I had issues with battery drain, but it's gotten worse now. I noticed that when I charge my MacBook and then leave it unused for a few days, the battery drops from 80% to 31%. The battery health in the settings shows it's normal. I'm frustrated and wondering if Apple is trying to push me to buy a new computer.

Honestly, if it's an Intel Mac, it might be time to consider upgrading to an Apple Silicon model. The performance and battery life are way better.

I get the suspicion, but I'd suggest exploring the issue more deeply before jumping to conclusions about Apple's intentions.

They've definitely done this with iPhones for a while, so it could be the same with Macs. Just a thought!

I doubt Apple is trying to make your Mac obsolete. It’s more likely that some app or process is keeping your laptop from going to sleep or is using up more battery. Check the Activity Monitor under the Energy tab to see what's draining your power. Additionally, new OS updates might trigger background tasks that could affect battery life. If you prefer the old OS, you can roll back by following Apple's support guide.

Well, it's a few years old now, and batteries naturally degrade over time. Are you sure you haven't set it to limit charging to 80%? That's a common feature nowadays.

Yeah, they have been accused of this for years just to get you to buy the latest model, even if the performance difference is small. Just saying!

That’s a bit exaggerated, especially post-Apple Silicon. The new M1 chips are fantastic. Trust me, I’ve got one and it’s a game changer!

Right? Like, the biggest tech company wants its customers to be unhappy. They score super high in customer satisfaction every year. Their goal is to keep customers happy, not the opposite.
