I recently got an open-box RTX 4070 from my neighbor who didn't want it. He received it as a gift, but it's too powerful for his gaming needs. He gave it to me for free, and I was excited to use it in a build for my wife. However, when I tried to install it, I noticed that the metal prongs that slot into the motherboard are bent, preventing it from fitting properly in the PCIe slot. Additionally, there are some unusual pins near the PSU connection that I'm unsure about. The card is a Zotac RTX 4070, and I'd love to know if there's a way to salvage it or if I need to find a replacement.

An easier option might be to just replace the metal bracket altogether. They're usually pretty easy to find and swap out. Just unscrew the old one and screw the new one on!
Where would one buy such a plate?
Those prongs don’t seem too serious. Just grab pliers and bend them back. The weird-looking pins you mentioned? They look like heat pipes to me—they shouldn't cause issues.
Honestly, I’d take off the bracket and carefully hammer it back into shape. And those funky pins? Looks like heat pipes to me.
Yes, those are them! My 4070 Super doesn’t have similar visible pins, so I wasn’t sure if they were damaged or what.
From what I can see, I think you can get it working. The bent rails might look concerning, but if everything else seems fine, you should be good to go!
You can definitely try bending the prongs back to their original shape. Just be careful and use pliers for that—it's not like the bracket is super critical for function!

Didn’t even know that was an option; thanks for the info!
