Lately, I've been hearing the USB disconnect sound from my computer quite frequently, but I haven't changed much hardware-wise aside from removing my WiFi card. I'd love to get to the bottom of this issue instead of just muting the sound. I've made sure my monitor isn't a sound source and that didn't help. It seems to happen when I launch or play games, which makes me wonder if it's somehow related to audio. The only USB devices I have connected are my mouse and keyboard, and they seem to be working fine. Even when I disconnect all USB devices, the sound still comes up. Has anyone else faced this issue? Any ideas on how to resolve it?

You might want to use USBLogView to track down any connected or disconnected devices. It can show you exactly what's causing the sound. If you discover that the issue isn't related to a USB device, it could possibly be linked to Windows updating drivers unexpectedly, so restricting those updates might help too.

So I tried unplugging all my USB devices like you suggested, but the sound continues. You're suggesting it might just be Windows acting up?
