Is the 5050 GPU a solid upgrade for 1080p gaming?

I'm currently running a 5500XT 4GB with a Ryzen 5 3600X and 16GB of RAM. I'm looking to boost my GPU performance without spending a fortune, as I want a solid 1080p gaming experience at 60+ FPS on medium to high settings. I play games like Elder Scrolls Online, Darktide, and Diablo 4 regularly, and I'm interested in trying out Doom Eternal and NBA 2K. Do you think the 5050 GPU will meet my needs, or are there better options available? Also, I'm not interested in used cards and don't need top-of-the-line 4K performance.

I’d recommend checking out something like a used 3060 or 3070. They can give you a great performance boost without breaking the bank. You could usually snag a 3060 for around $180 and a 3070 for about $250.

Honestly, I wouldn’t go for the 5050 or 5060 series. They have PCIe x8 interfaces which can really hold back performance, especially if you’re pushing the limits of the VRAM. Consider the 9060XT instead; it has a much better interface.

But just to clarify, the 5050/60 are PCIe 5 x8. Since your Ryzen 5 3600 only supports PCIe 4, there shouldn't be any bottleneck issues running it on your setup.
