Hey everyone! I've got a pre-built PC from 2019 and have made some decent upgrades over the years. I wanted to get your thoughts on when I should think about upgrading my motherboard and CPU. Here's a quick rundown of my setup:
Original Parts:
- Asrock B365 Pro4 motherboard
- Intel i5-9600KF processor
Upgraded Parts:
- 32GB PC3200 DDR4 RAM (currently running at 2666MHz due to the chipset)
- 1TB WD Black SN850x SSD
- RTX 5060 16GB GPU (just upgraded recently)
I feel like the chipset and CPU are the main bottlenecks right now. I play games like Destiny 2, Black Ops 7, and some RPG and simulation titles. Generally, I'm getting decent FPS on medium settings at 1440p. Do you think I should upgrade my motherboard and CPU now, or is it worth waiting? I also have quality RAM, and I'm considering going with an AM4 motherboard to reuse the memory. What do you all think?

First off, check your GPU usage! If you're often under 100% utilization in games, that suggests your CPU is holding you back. It’s a solid sign that an upgrade is worth considering. For Black Ops 7, what’s your GPU usage like?

In Black Ops 7, my GPU is hitting 96-100% during matches!
