I've recently noticed that the memory usage on my computer has been steadily climbing. Initially, my system would run with less than 50% RAM usage, but now it seems to hover around 60%. I've checked using Process Explorer and RAMMap, but I can't pinpoint the source of the issue since all the applications listed are system programs. Here are my specs:
- Device: DESKTOP-81GIKET
- CPU: Intel Core i5-10400 @ 2.90GHz
- RAM: 8GB (7.75GB usable)
- OS: Windows 11 Pro (Version 25H2, Build 26200.7922). I'm not sure what else I can try to resolve this. Can anyone help?

Windows tends to use available RAM for caching to improve overall performance. So, what you're seeing might not be an actual memory leak but just the system doing its job. When another application needs memory, Windows will allocate it as needed. It's also worth keeping in mind that having more than 50% RAM usage can be normal, especially with modern applications. However, if you notice performance issues, it might be worth checking for background processes that could be consuming excess resources.
Yeah, I had this issue too, and once I managed my startup programs, it helped a lot.
If you're gaming, consider upgrading your RAM. 8GB is often not enough for modern games; 16GB is becoming the standard. It could significantly improve loading times and overall performance.

That's true! Windows optimizes RAM usage well, but if you're facing slowdowns, you might want to check task manager for any unusual spikes in usage.
