I recently lost all my data on a memory stick and I'm trying to recover it using a tool called Disk Drill. However, it's showing that there are over 10,000 files found, and I definitely don't remember having that many on the stick. Is this normal? What could be happening?

If your data is crucial to you, it might be worth the effort to recover it as best as you can! Just keep in mind, the numbers you see could be unreliable, especially if there's been issues with that storage device.
Is your memory stick a 1TB drive? That seems like a huge number.
Nope, it's actually a 64GB stick!
During recovery, software tries to pull up any traces of files, even the ones that are corrupted or have been deleted for a long time. So yeah, it's possible you're seeing a lot of junk like temp files in that count!

Yeah, I really need to get my old university files back!
