Looking for Guidance on Building My First PC for Video Editing

Hey everyone! I'm a video editor who's been struggling with lag on my Asus Vivobook laptop for a while now. It's been quite frustrating, so I've decided to take the plunge and build a new PC. I've done some basic research, but I'm overwhelmed by the number of components available and I'm not sure which ones will give me the best performance. I'm also looking to future-proof my setup to avoid upgrading parts too soon. While I haven't set an exact budget, I'd like to keep it relatively affordable. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! P.S. I'm in the UK and looking at a budget of about £1,000 to £1,500 if that helps.

It’s great that you’re diving into building your own PC! First, can you tell us your currency and where you’re based? Also, even if you haven’t settled on a budget, do you have a rough range you’re thinking of?

I'm in the UK, so the currency is GBP. Realistically, I can stretch to about £1,000 to £1,500.
