I recently upgraded my GPU from a 4060 Ti to a 5070 Ti, and I'm not seeing any noticeable increase in FPS in Warzone, which has me puzzled. Here are my specs:
- Ryzen 7 7700
- 32GB DDR5 (4x8GB) at 4800MHz
- 2TB NVMe storage
- RM850e PSU
- Gigabyte B650M K motherboard with the latest BIOS update.
I'm using DLSS Transformer set to balanced at 100%, and I'm playing at 1440p with all competitive settings turned on, including rebar. With the 4060 Ti, I averaged around 160 FPS, but the performance seems the same or even slightly worse with the new 5070 Ti. I suspect my CPU might be bottlenecking performance, but I'm surprised that there's no FPS improvement at all. I did see a 50 FPS increase when I tested a 7900 XT with Fidelity CAS compared to the 4060 Ti. I also ran FurMark and got 300 FPS on the 5070 Ti versus 175 FPS on the 4060 Ti. What could be going on?

Your RAM speed could definitely be a big factor here. Running 4800 MT/s isn’t ideal for gaming, especially with AMD CPUs. You should look into overclocking your RAM or even enabling EXPO profiles if you haven’t yet.
It sounds like you've already identified the likely culprit—your CPU. Since Warzone is pretty CPU-intensive, even at 1440p, it can still bottleneck your GPU. Don’t be surprised if you see less impact during heavy CPU loads, so you could see similar performance across different GPUs if the CPU is holding things back.
I’m actually surprised too that there isn’t a bigger difference using the 5070 Ti at 1440p. With such an upgrade, you’d typically expect more FPS. Have you tried things like reinstalling Windows or adjusting some settings? There might be other underlying issues affecting performance.
Good point! Sometimes a fresh Windows install can help clear out weird performance issues. Also, make sure your RAM is running at optimal speeds.
You mentioned the 7900 XT gave you a performance boost. Sounds like there’s more going on if the 5070 Ti isn’t performing up to par. Maybe it’s an NVIDIA driver issue since they can sometimes introduce CPU overhead that impacts certain setups.
If you're after more FPS, I’d recommend upgrading your CPU to something like an X3D model. That should give you a notable performance bump, particularly in CPU-heavy games like Warzone. Plus, don’t forget to check your GPU settings—they could be hindering performance!

Exactly! Many players forget that high-resolution settings can still reveal CPU limitations, especially in demanding titles. You might want to consider optimizing your CPU or RAM, or even think about overclocking.
