I'm trying to figure out if I can run FL Studio and play my favorite Steam games on Linux. I previously tried Ubuntu on my laptop, but I faced constant audio issues, which led to frustrating dips and even total failures. I heard that HP laptops can have a hard time with Linux, and now I'm considering switching to a more Linux-friendly laptop. I had to reinstall Windows because the audio problems were unbearable, and some bugs required frequent restarts, which was annoying. Now I'm looking at an Acer laptop equipped with a 3070ti and 32GB of RAM. Are there any gaming-focused Linux distros that I should consider? Also, if I can't fully switch to Linux, I'm fine with dual booting, but I'm really eager to get away from Windows.

It really depends on the games you want to play. MMO shooters should still work fine, but anything needing kernel-level anti-cheat might be a gamble. Titles like Hollow Knight function well, though! What are you playing these days?
If you’re a Steam user, gaming on Linux can be pretty smooth. Most games you've played on Windows can be run on Linux without major issues. Have you tried any specific Linux distros for gaming yet?
I've run into issues with FL Studio mainly because of some plugins, especially premium ones. For that reason, I dual boot Windows just for those times I need my plugins. Still, most of my favorite games work fine on Linux. Be sure to check them on ProtonDB!
Yeah, it looks like FL Studio works decently on Linux, especially with Wine. You might want to check out ProtonDB for your games too. What specific games do you have in mind?
