Is it safe to boot my PC with these used components?

I have a setup with a Coolermaster V850 power supply that I bought used, an Asus Prime H-310M-A R2.0 motherboard, 16GB of DDR4 Vengeance RAM, an i3-9100F processor, a 1TB WD Blue hard drive, and an RTX 3070 EVGA graphics card. I'm wondering if it's safe to boot my PC with these components. Also, do I need to remove the processor from the motherboard when installing the new video card and power supply? I'm particularly concerned about potentially damaging my hard drive, so any advice from those who have dealt with similar setups would be really appreciated.

Your setup should work fine. Just make sure when you're switching to the new power supply, you use the new cables that come with it and not the old ones. No need to worry about removing the CPU when installing the GPU—those are separate components!

It sounds like a solid build overall, but definitely keep an eye on that used PSU situation. It could lead to problems, and you don’t want to risk frying your hard drive. Just be careful while connecting everything!

Buying a used power supply is a big no-no! It can cause major issues, including damaging your entire setup. You should be able to boot your PC as long as everything is connected properly, but make sure to use only the cables that came with the new PSU. The hard drive may make it a bit sluggish but shouldn't prevent booting. Just be cautious!

Yeah, I totally agree. Using a used PSU can lead to a lot of problems. Better to invest in a new one, even if it costs a bit more!

Honestly, while the system should post if everything is functioning properly, using a used PSU is a risk. And about your CPU being a potential bottleneck with that GPU—just keep that in mind when gaming or heavy tasks.
