Hey everyone! I'm in a bit of a bind because my company isn't covering the costs for KubeCon, and I need to decide if it's worth shelling out around €1,200 from my own pocket to go (this covers the ticket, hostel, and flights). For those who have attended before, would you personally spend your own money to go? I'll be going solo, but I'm fairly social and expect to meet some interesting people and catch some great talks. I've been to a lot of tech conferences, but this one is by far the most expensive for me, which brings up some uncertainty. What do you all think?

Maybe look into enrolling in a university program? You could snag student discounts for KubeCon, plus have something interesting to occupy your time!
Conferences just aren't worth that much. Most times, they just hype things up or cover basic topics.
Honestly, I'd say save your money unless you have a specific goal in mind for going. Most talks end up being recorded and uploaded anyway.
No way, it’s just too pricey now. I'd only consider going if my company were footing the bill. Those ticket prices have skyrocketed!
If you really want to experience KubeCon, I'd suggest prioritizing networking. Side events often offer great opportunities without the hefty price.
