Hey everyone! I currently have an RX 7900 XT paired with a 9800X3D processor and 32GB of DDR5 6000 MT/s RAM. I've been gaming with this setup at 1440p for a while, but I'm starting to feel the itch to upgrade my GPU. I'm debating between the upcoming 5080 and the 9070 XT. While the 5080 is definitely the more powerful card, its price is pretty outrageous right now. On the other hand, the 9070 XT seems to offer better value, but I'm curious if it would be a significant upgrade from my current 7900 XT. What do you all think?

For what it’s worth, I think the 9070 XT is a solid choice if you’re set on upgrading. Just keep in mind that you won’t see massive improvements at 1440p. Wait for prices to settle before pulling any triggers.
You should probably just chill with your 7900 XT. There’s really no strong reason to upgrade right now. Enjoy your current setup!
I’d say just stick with the 7900 XT. It’s an amazing card, and all these new options aren't really providing a meaningful boost for 1440p gaming.
Honestly, unless you have money to burn, I wouldn't jump into an upgrade just yet. The 9070 XT is only about 10% faster than your RX 7900 XT, plus it actually comes with less VRAM. I think you’re better off waiting until a more substantial upgrade is available, especially with the potential release of better GPUs in the future.
If ray tracing is what you're after, then the 5080 might make sense for you. But honestly, your 7900 XT holds up great for now. The 9070 XT is indeed a nice card if you decide to upgrade, but it’s more of a side grade than anything.
