Why does my WiFi take so long to connect on Linux Mint?

I've been using Linux Mint for less than a week, and while it boots up super quickly, connecting to my WiFi takes about a minute or more every time. I'm using the T3U Plus (A1300) with the rtl88x2bu driver. This slow connection issue happens not just at boot, but every single time I try to connect to WiFi. My internet runs fine once it's connected, but this waiting period is really frustrating. Is this typical or is there something I can do to fix it?

Have you considered switching to a newer kernel? I upgraded mine, and my WiFi now works flawlessly on Kubuntu. It might be worth checking out.

Make sure you have iwd, systemd-networkd, and NetworkManager set up properly. If they’re all running, they might be conflicting with each other over your WiFi. You really just need one of those to manage your connections. Check which ones you have enabled!

I looked into that, and I found that I don't have iwd installed, systemd-networkd is disabled, and only NetworkManager is enabled.
