Best GPU and CPU Combo for a New PC Build

I'm building my first PC and would love some advice on components. I know it's not the best time to build, but I'm determined! I have an AM4 motherboard and a 650W RM650E power supply. My budget for the GPU is around $800 USD, and I'm in New Zealand, so availability may vary. Ideally, I want to target 1440p gaming, but I'm not sure about the refresh rate since I still need to get a monitor. For the CPU, I'm looking to spend about $300 USD. What combinations do you guys recommend? Thanks!

You can't go wrong with any of the AMD 5000 Series CPUs. For the GPU, look into either the 9060 XT or the 9700 XTX, depending on your budget. You might also consider the 4070 or a 3070 if those work for you.

If you want the best performance within your budget, the 5800 XT and 9070 XT would be a great combo. Just keep in mind that you might need a little more power supply for that setup!

Thanks for the tip! I’ll look into whether I should upgrade my PSU then.

For your setup, I'd recommend going with a Ryzen 5 5600 paired with a 9060 XT 16GB graphics card. It should give you solid performance for 1440p gaming and keep you within your budget.
