Help! Can’t Connect to My Laptop from Desktops on the Same Network

I'm having trouble connecting to my laptop (C) from my two desktop PCs (A and B) on the same private network. All three computers are running Windows 11. I can see C from A and B, but I can't access it to open any files. I've enabled file sharing and removed passwords, yet I still get a connection error message. A and B are connected via Ethernet while C is on Wi-Fi. Is there something I'm missing? Should I remove the PIN on B, or is there another issue at play?

Make sure to check if wireless client isolation is enabled on your router. That might be what's keeping A and B from accessing C.

It could be an issue with your Wi-Fi router settings. You should look into peer isolation or node isolation settings. Sometimes, routers allow wired devices to communicate with wireless ones, but restrict wireless-to-wired connections.

Check the update version on your devices. There's been a change with version 24H2 that prevents password-less connections. If your laptop is still on 23H2, that might be the issue.

If B has a PIN set, consider removing it; typically, you need to provide a username and password for connections to work smoothly with file sharing.

You might want to check the firewall settings on your laptop (C). Try temporarily turning it off to see if it’s blocking the connection.
