I'm in the process of having a workstation built for my small business, and I'm stuck between two CPU options: the Intel Core Ultra 7 265 with 20 cores running at 5.2GHz, or the AMD Ryzen 7 9700X. My biggest concern is about longevity and making the best investment for the future. I want a computer that will last a while and perform well for my needs. I'll be using this workstation for downloading and uploading photos and videos, and I'll need to edit videos, most of which are in 4k or lower resolution. I also use programs like Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and Outlook. If anyone has advice on which CPU would be better for long-term use, I'd really appreciate it!

For longevity, AMD is often recommended since their CPUs allow for upgrades. The Ryzen 7 9700X should handle your tasks well, especially since you'll be editing videos and using productivity software. Plus, the new Zen 6 generation coming out will use the same socket, so you'll have some room to grow without needing a whole new setup.
