Hey everyone! I've been diving into Linux for about five months now, and I made the mistake of starting with Arch. Looking back, I see it was quite a leap for someone who had zero Linux experience. Getting used to the terminal took a lot of effort! My main goal with Linux is gaming, especially with all my games on Steam. Valve's support has been solid, but I've had major headaches with Ubisoft, as I haven't been able to run any Ubisoft or EA games.
So now I'm on the hunt for a Linux distribution that's more user-friendly, especially for someone new like me, but still great for gaming. I've considered options like Bazzite, Nobara, Garuda, PopOS, and Cachyos. I'm totally open to suggestions for any other distros that could fit my needs!

For a beginner, I think Linux Mint is a solid choice. It's a user-friendly version of Ubuntu and pretty stable for gaming too!
I’d also suggest Mint or Pop OS. They're pretty solid and can give you a good experience, but just keep in mind not all games will work perfectly on Linux.
If you're focused solely on gaming, Bazzite might be the easiest to use straight out of the box, especially for a newbie.
While many games can be challenging on Linux—especially multiplayer ones due to anti-cheat issues—you might want to try Wine or Bottles for running those EA and Ubisoft games. Just a heads-up that some titles may not work at all on Linux, depending on their anti-cheat systems.
