How can I free up storage for Sims 4 on my laptop?

I'm using an HP 14 laptop running Windows 11 with an Intel processor that can go up to 3.6 GHz, but I'm struggling with storage. It has a max capacity of 128GB, and I'm down to just 38GB left with all my essentials deleted. I love playing Sims 4 and some mods are taking up a lot of space! I'd really prefer not to wipe everything clean. Any tips for increasing available storage without starting from scratch?

To really boost your space, I recommend getting a higher capacity internal storage device, like a 1TB SSD. That would give you plenty of room for all your Sims mods and more!

You should consider using a free tool like WizTree to analyze where your data is occupying space. It can help you find files you can move or delete. Also, check if your laptop allows for additional internal storage, as there might be options to add another hard drive.

Wait, so how would I check for a model number? Like, is it usually on a sticker or something?

You can also follow Microsoft's guide to clean up the WinSxS folder, which often takes up a ton of space. Make sure to run it in an elevated command prompt to have admin access.

I just tried that! Followed the steps but I’m not sure if it actually worked or not.

Having 38GB free should be fine for storage, but be mindful if you’re planning to add more mods. Completely filling your storage can slow things down, but you've got enough space for a good while!
