Has Anyone Experienced Account Issues with Datto/Kaseya’s SaaS Protection for M365?

I've been using the service formerly known as Datto Backupify to back up our Teams, Exchange, and SharePoint for M365. Although it feels a bit clunky, it's generally worked well for us. However, I've heard that about a year before I joined this company, a mistake by a vendor resulted in our backup tenant being completely deleted without any warning, and now I think we're facing a similar issue again. Our subscription is paid up until the end of the year, yet support can't find our administrative users or our organization at all—it's like we've vanished. I'm really concerned about where this ticket will lead. Has anyone else encountered something like this with Datto/Kaseya or the reseller Ubistor? **UPDATE:** Our tenant was restored, but we're still waiting for a root cause analysis.

Backupify/SaaS Protect isn’t terrible, but Kaseya has a pretty bad reputation out there. Honestly, there are tons of backup options for M365—like Veeam, Dropsuite, Avepoint, and Skykick—that I would definitely consider if you’re not locked into Kaseya.

Absolutely! Pricing is key, though. I haven't seen anyone beat Kaseya's cost per user right now; at least not in the quotes we've received.

I haven't run into that specific issue, but I've had nothing but problems with a Datto backup appliance. It was required by my employer, but we ditched it within a year due to constant headaches. It seems like many have similar complaints about Datto. It's a mystery why some people recommend it; my experience was fraught with simple issues that shouldn't have been difficult.

Yeah, I've heard that Datto's pricing can be attractive—some say it's about 50 cents cheaper than Veeam. But if you're saving money on such a critical system, is it worth it?

It does sound like your issues stem from the way it was implemented. If it was truly that bad, maybe it just wasn't a good fit for your setup.

We switched from Datto to Axcient for this very reason. Their support was terrible, and the product didn’t perform as expected. Just a nightmare all around.
