What’s the Best Order for Upgrading Computer Parts?

I built my first computer back in 2019, and I'm planning to upgrade some parts this year. I'm curious if there's a specific order I should follow when making these upgrades, or if it really doesn't matter. I'm thinking that maybe starting with the motherboard is the way to go, but I'm not entirely sure if that should be done last instead. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

A good rule of thumb is to upgrade the parts that are slowing your system down first. Usually, that's the GPU. Even if your computer is older, a new graphics card can greatly improve performance, unless your CPU is really outdated. Just keep in mind that newer GPUs may need a more powerful power supply.

If your motherboard is on your list for upgrades, consider starting with that for a fresh build experience. This way, part compatibility won’t hold you back. Otherwise, boosting your RAM and getting a better video card can really enhance performance without a full rebuild.

Honestly, there's no one-size-fits-all order. It all depends on your current specs and what you're trying to achieve. Focus on upgrading whatever component is causing the most issues first.
