I'm excited to be setting up a new rig that should arrive by tomorrow or Friday! After being stuck with Windows 11 for work and on my previous laptop, I've decided to switch things up. Here's what I've got for specs: MSI X870E motherboard, Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU, a Thermaltake 360 AIO cooler, 32GB Corsair Vengeance 6000 RAM, an XFX Quicksilver 9070XT GPU, a 2TB PCIe 5.0 SSD, a 3TB SATA drive, and a 1000W PSU. I'm mostly planning to use this setup for gaming, along with some photo and video editing, as well as some 3D model slicing and merging for 3D printing. I've used Mint on a different laptop and even set up a Raspberry Pi for Klipper, so I'm familiar with it. I'm comfortable with the command line and keen to learn more, but I'd love a nice GUI too. What distro would you recommend? Thanks for your input!

I’d suggest steering clear of anything based on Arch for now. Maybe try Fedora or Tumbleweed given your powerful hardware.

I was considering Fedora too. I've not heard of Tumbleweed, but I’ll check it out—thanks!
