I'm looking for a monitor to use with my gaming laptop, which has a 1600p 240Hz display and an NVIDIA 4070. I've come across two options on Facebook Marketplace: a 1440p 360Hz OLED monitor for $400 and a 4K 240Hz mini LED monitor for the same price. I know I won't be gaming at 4K 240fps; I'm considering 4K mostly for productivity and watching movies and would lower the resolution during gaming. The monitors I'm looking at are the "SAMSUNG 27" Odyssey QD-OLED G6 (G60SD) Series Gaming Monitor with QHD 360Hz" and the "SAMSUNG 32" Odyssey Neo G8 4K UHD 240Hz". Could you help me decide?

If you're playing competitive shooters like Fortnite, you really don’t need a 4K monitor. More FPS and higher Hz are what you should focus on, so the 1440p monitor sounds like a more suitable choice.
Given your setup, it seems you're not going to get the most out of either monitor. However, the 1440p option is probably your best bet since you won't be able to saturate the specs of either monitor with your laptop.
Your laptop’s 4070 will probably struggle to hit even 60fps at 4K, and it might barely hit 120fps at 1440p, so you're not really in a winning position either way. I'd recommend the 1440p monitor, especially since those higher refresh rates won't be helpful for your setup anyway.
A laptop GPU isn't likely to fully utilize the 360Hz of the 1440p monitor while gaming, plus it will struggle at 4K. If productivity is important to you, I’d lean toward going for a higher resolution even if it means lower refresh rates.
