I have a 14" MacBook Pro with an M1 Pro chip and its SSD, along with the entire logic board, has failed. Since the cost to replace the logic board was too high compared to the laptop's value, I decided to upgrade to a 16" M4 Pro instead. Still, I want to do something with my old 14" model, which is otherwise in excellent condition. If I could find a low-spec donor logic board from an M1 standard MacBook, I might be able to get it running again for just a couple hundred dollars. I'm not concerned about the specs anymore; I think running Asahi Linux on it would be pretty cool. Does anyone have suggestions?

Honestly, it’s a bit of a stretch to call it 'pristine' if the board is toast. You might want to consider selling it for parts on eBay or something. It could still fetch a reasonable price given its condition, minus the board.

That’s not really what I was asking about. I know what 'otherwise' means, thanks!
