I graduated last year with a degree in Computer Science and got my Software Engineer badge after taking extra courses. I'm honestly feeling lost right now and could really use some advice. Despite spending about five years in school—including an internship—I never actually built anything complex. I mostly relied on others' ideas and created simple applications like calculators. In my final year, I discovered a passion for Android development, but I procrastinated and never made any substantial progress. After graduation, I got a research position thanks to my connections, but I once again slacked off and wasted that opportunity. Now, I'm two months unemployed and finally decided to buckle down and learn programming seriously. I'm currently taking Google's Android basics compose course. My main concern is: is it too late for me to break into the industry? I've been hearing a lot of negativity about the job market, and I worry that I've missed my chance. I've also been approached to help with a project related to LLMs, but I don't even know where to start. Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

You've got to tackle that procrastination first. It sounds like you've had some great opportunities and let them slip by. If you're serious about becoming a programmer, you've got to buckle down, study hard, and build a solid portfolio. It's tough out there, but it’s definitely not the end. You just need to commit to the grind and really change your habits.
You're right. I've got a lot of work to do but I'm done making excuses. I'll give it my all from now on. Thanks for your support!
