Hey folks,
I'm in a bit of a bind with my Apple ID. I've had it for over a decade and it's connected to 8 devices and my 2TB iCloud storage. I also have about $800 in my Apple account that I can't afford to lose. Recently, I got a $50 Apple gift card from a friend, which he bought from a seller on Noones. He provided a picture of it and a receipt, confirming it was bought with cash.
However, a few days after I redeemed it, my Apple ID got permanently disabled. Apple Support said someone reported the gift card as stolen and they disabled my account without any investigation. I've tried providing receipts and proof, but they claim the only way to fix this is for the original reporter to cancel their report. I'm worried since I also have other balances linked to my account purchased from retailers like Target and Amazon. Has anyone been through this before? Is there any advice you can give, or should I consider getting legal help?

I suggest you talk to a senior advisor in Media Services and make sure they know you want this escalated. Be polite but firm, and provide them with all documentation, including details about your friend's purchase. It could be just an error on their part. Also, in the future, it might be best to avoid redeeming secondhand gift cards to prevent issues like this from happening again.
Thanks for the tip! I did try having it escalated, but the ‘senior advisor’ I spoke to was really unhelpful. He said that calling back wouldn’t change anything since he was a 'senior guy.' I’m not sure where to go from here.
