Why is my RAM running slower than advertised?

Hey everyone! I hope this doesn't come off as a silly question, but I'm noticing that my RAM is operating at 2667MHz, even though it's supposed to reach 3200MHz. Did I misconfigure something? Just to give you a bit of background, my setup includes an AMD Ryzen 5 5600 processor, 32 GB of RAM, and a GeForce RTX 2060 GPU. Any insights would be appreciated!

You might want to check your BIOS settings and enable XMP (Extreme Memory Profile). It's usually not turned on by default, and doing this could let your RAM run at its full speed!

Exactly! You usually have to do this after installing new RAM. Glad I could help!

Oh ok awesome, thank you!

I mean, if all else fails, just try yelling 'run Forrest run' at it three times! Just kidding, XMP is the way to go.
