Is It Normal for My Acer Nitro 16 to Spike to 95°C When Gaming?

I'm experiencing a concerning thermal issue with my Acer Nitro 16 (model AN16-41). It has a Ryzen 7 7840HS, RTX 4060, and 32GB of RAM. Whenever I start a game, even ones with low specs, my CPU temperature shoots up from around 50°C to 95°C-100°C in just a few seconds. To give you some details: at idle, my temps are around 45-55°C, and as soon as the game engine kicks in, NitroSense displays temps over 95°C. The fans are running at about 4800-5000 RPM, but the temperature remains at the thermal limit. I've noticed that UserBenchmark shows about 19% background CPU usage while my laptop is "idle". The GPU is also hitting high usage (99%) and reaching temperatures around 92°C quickly. I'm wondering if the issue could be related to the factory Liquid Metal application, as I've heard some Nitro 16 units have issues with thermal paste. I've also changed the liquid metal to thermal paste and cleaned it out less than three months ago. Should I consider reapplying the thermal paste again or is it best to send it in for warranty, which I might have voided?

UserBenchmark isn't the best tool for assessing performance issues, as it can be quite inaccurate and biased. It's generally not reliable for diagnosing problems or comparing hardware. You might want to look into other benchmark tools instead.
