I have an ASUS TUF 15 laptop that suffered some water damage, and now the screen is completely dead. I can only boot into Linux using an external monitor, but I'm having trouble logging in. Is there a way to force the external monitor to mirror the display instead of extending it?

You can try pressing the F4 key on your laptop. It usually cycles through monitor options, but it might be tricky if you're at the login screen.
Have you tried using SSH to access your files? If you can get in that way, you might not need to do anything with your hard drive.
I was hoping to avoid removing the drive. I'll give SSH a shot, but it might not work.
Good luck! Hopefully, SSH will work for you!
If SSH isn't working, the quickest option might be to pull the hard drive and connect it to another laptop. It's a hassle, but it ensures you can access your files.

Unfortunately, that didn't help at the login screen.
