My PC Won’t Post – Any Ideas on What’s Going On?

Hey everyone, I'm having a really frustrating issue with my PC. A few days ago, it refused to post when I tried to turn it on. After a few power cycles, it finally posted, but today it won't post again. Here's what's happening:

When I power it on, the RGB lights flicker, and then nothing happens. On the next power attempt, I see that:
1) 2 out of 3 case fans are running (the bottom one is not).
2) All 3 CPU fans are turning.
3) The CPU seems to be operational based on the sounds.
4) GPU fans are active.
5) The RAM RGB lighting is functioning.
6) The case fan near the GPU/motherboard is hit-or-miss; right now, it's not running.

I've tried moving the RAM sticks around, putting one in a different slot, and even connecting the HDMI directly to the motherboard instead of the GPU. I also don't see any troubleshooting LED lights on my motherboard. I'm really hoping it's a power supply issue, but I'd love to hear any other suggestions before I dive into buying new parts!

Could it be the motherboard? Sometimes they can fail and cause boot issues. Hopefully, that's not the case for you!

I really hope not either! That would be a bigger headache.

Here are a few things to consider:
- Your power supply might be failing; I've seen that happen where it partially works for a while.
- Check all your cable connections; sometimes, a loose connection can cause this kind of issue.
- There's also a chance that one of your drives is starting to fail, which can lead to boot problems, although that seems less likely in your case.

Yeah, I tried a new PSU, and unfortunately, that didn’t help either. The bottom fan and the rear fan start but then stop powering up.

It sounds like you might have a PSU problem. It could be that your power supply isn't providing stable power, causing it to cycle through the post process. First, make sure all the PSU cables are securely connected and check for any cable damage. Also, try unplugging all peripherals except just the mouse, keyboard, and monitor, then power it on again. If that doesn't help, you might want to unplug the RGB if it's connected to the motherboard and see if that changes anything. If the issue persists, trying another PSU would definitely be a good step to rule it out.

I unplugged everything but still have the same issue. I'll try a new PSU and cross my fingers!

A new PSU didn’t fix it for me either. Seems like the bottom third fan starts up and then stops on power up. Really perplexing!
